There’s just something about a pink lip gloss. It’s been my go-to lip color in balms, lipsticks, and glosses for as long as I’ve been wearing makeup. Recently I found six high shine pink lip glosses from the drugstore that range from a pale pink to a deeper pink-purple.
When it comes to lip gloss you not only need to find the right color but you also have to take in consideration how they wear and feel. A sticky lip gloss is no fun. Of the six that I tried, some fared better than others, but for the budget-friendly price, you can afford to try a few different brands to see what works best for you.

NYX Butter Gloss in Éclair
NYX Butter Gloss is one of the more pigmented glosses in the group and this color leans toward magenta/purple. There are 24 colors in the range.
This is a gorgeous pink/purple and it is a very lightweight formula that feels great on the lips. I really liked this one and plan on purchasing additional colors.
Rimmel Stay Glossy Lip Gloss in Claridge’s Ruby
Rimmel Stay Glossy Lip Gloss is supposed to provide up to six hours of wear in a lightweight formula that can be worn alone or over lipstick for a high shine look. Lip gloss never lasts too long for me and I always have to re-apply, so I’m not sure about the six hours of wear.
I also wasn’t sure that I would like this color since it appeared to be one of the sheerest colors of the bunch. Yet it appears to have more pigment once applied to my lips. It had no stickiness and did feel lightweight so I think this would be a great gloss to apply over lipstick or another color gloss.
CoverGirl Colorlicious Gloss in Candylicious
CoverGirl states that the colors of their Colorlicious glosses are true to the tubes. I have to agree. This pink has hints of metallic and is another of the more pigmented glosses. I’ve worn GoverGirl glosses for years and they are never sticky but are high shine and come in great colors. I highly recommend.

e.l.f. Lip Plumping Gloss in Pink Cosmo
I have to admit I’ve never been a fan of lip plumper. They usually just make my lips sting and do nothing else. E.l.f. Lip Plumping Gloss made my lips sting and unfortunately didn’t provide a plumping effect for me.
A plus is the Vitamin E and coconut oil in the formula. The color is a very sheer pink and it felt a little heavier than some of the other formulas.
Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Shine in Blush
This Burt’s Bees 100% natural gloss is formulated with apricot wax for slip and shine. It falls somewhere in between lightweight and heavier in regard to the weight of the formula. The taste is pleasant and rather sweet. It’s not sticky at all and provides natural color to my lips.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in Pink Sorbet
I’ve always loved Neutrogena glosses, so I expected to love Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine. The lip plumping formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid so that lips feel and appear hydrated for 24 hours.
I must first address the packaging. The applicator is flat and wide and I had a hard time getting it out of the tube the first time that I used it. At one point I thought I was going to break it by trying to get it the applicator back in the tube but it held up and after a few uses it improved.
The formula itself is a little on the thicker side. It is a nice light baby pink color. I’m not sure that the hyaluronic acid did anything for my lips, but it’s nice to know that this all-star hydrator is in the formula.

Honorable Mention:
NYX #THISISEVERYTHING Lip Oil in Sheer
Even though NYX Lip Oil is not a gloss, it has the slightest sheer pink tint. It is formulated with almond, rosehip, and jojoba oils to soften your lips without an oily or sticky feeling. It is supposed to have a vanilla-cherry blossom scent. I thought the scent was very light.
This left my lips so soft and smooth. I grab it when my lips feel dry and it does the trick. Love this! Next on my list is this lip oil in Sheer Blush.
Lip Gloss Swatches
It’s very hard to describe the variety of pink colors without a visual, so here are the six glosses swatched on my hand. Favorites so far: NYX and CoverGirl!
