The Best Maybelline Products

Did you know that the cosmetics company, Maybelline, has been around for over 100 years – since the 1910s?

Or that its name is a combination of the founder’s sister’s name, Maybel, and her love of using Vaseline to define her eyes and brows?

In honor of this drugstore makeup mainstay, I’d like to discuss some of the best Maybelline products, one of my favorite brands from the drugstore.

The Best Maybelline Products

Maybelline offers a large range of shades in not only their base products but also their color cosmetics. The products range from foundation, concealer, primer, and blush to mascara, lip color, eyebrow products, and even nail polish.

Maybelline continues to bring to market the latest cosmetic products that are both trendy and classic. Their drugstore makeup products are so affordable and, more importantly, very effective!

The best Maybelline products include must-haves that lean toward the classics which include foundation, concealer, highlighter, loose powder, pressed powder, lipstick, and mascara.

Let’s start with my most favorite Maybelline product of all, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer:

It is formulated with goji berry and Haloxyl, which is a peptide blend formulated to lighten dark circles and firm the skin.

This concealer comes in 16 shades, plus a Neutralizer and Brightener shade. The Neutralizer can be applied under the concealer for extremely dark circles.

For luminosity, the Brightener can be applied to the inner corner of the eyes, cheek and brow bones, and the bridge of the nose

I’ve used and loved this concealer for years. The only drawback for me is the packaging. I don’t think the small round sponge-tip applicator allows for the best and most precise application.

I remove the micro-corrector applicator sponge, twist to dispense the concealer, and apply it to my finger prior to applying it to my eyes. This allows for a more targeted application. I never apply the tube directly to my eye area.

I’m amazed at how this concealer really stands up to the test of time. From the rich pigment and coverage to the fact that it does not settle into fine lines, this is a drugstore concealer that you don’t want to miss.

In my opinion, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer is hands down the best drugstore concealer formula out there.

The arrow tip applicator is perfect for precise lipstick application. It is currently available in a range of 35 shades.

This liquid lipstick is really pigmented and comes in such a fantastic array of shades. I love that there are quite a few neutral shades available for this product, too. The finish is matte and doesn’t transfer.

If you want to adjust the shade and finish, try applying a neutral lip gloss on top. I like wearing the shade Dreamer, shown above, with a pale neutral gloss on top. The pigmented color really lasts.

The lightweight liquid is oil-free and won’t clog pores. It minimizes the appearance of uneven skin tone and hides imperfections with a full range of 28 shades.

Even though this is a full coverage foundation, you can start out with a light layer and build it to your preferred coverage.

It blends into your skin easily with a makeup brush, sponge, or even your fingers. The lightweight formula really stands out to me. So often, with full coverage foundations, you feel like you are wearing a mask, but not with this foundation.

The finely milled powder formulated with pearl pigments releases easily from the pan and can be applied with a brush or your fingertips.

You can apply it to areas such as your cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose.

There are four shades in the collection: Molten Gold, Molten Rose Gold, Molten Peach, and Molten Topaz.

Since I have paler skin, I researched, and based on reviews, I purchased Molten Rose Gold. It is such a pretty buttery and creamy warm-toned highlighter.

You need only the slightest bit, or you may overdo it on the brightness. The pigment is very real with this product!

It provides shine control for up to 12 hours of wear for a reduction in the appearance of pores.

It’s oil-free and does not clog pores. This powder comes in 24 shades, and each pan comes with its own application sponge hidden away under the powder.

While this powder is ideal for those with oily skin, if dry skin is your concern, Maybelline Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth Powder will provide an even and finished look without drying your skin.

It’s very natural and blends seamlessly with Maybelline SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation.

This loose powder is available in 8 shades. To apply, first I tap some of the loose powder in the cap.

Then I swirl a powder brush in the loose powder and then give it a tap to release any excess powder before applying it to my face.

I pay extra attention to my t-zone, which can get oily as the day goes on.

Although I typically wear pressed powder since it’s usually much easier and less messy than loose powder, I am really impressed with the pigments and lasting coverage of this loose powder.

The mascara is infused with conditioning Rose Hip Oil and mineral pigments to lengthen and volumize lashes without clumping.

Use the inner curve to reach the roots of your lashes. The inner curve of the brush also works really well on your bottom lashes. This mascara is ideal for definition and fullness without any heaviness.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, as it is surely one of their best-known products.

Supposedly one sells every 1.7 seconds! Well, I like this mascara better thanks to the precise rounded brush, which separates and lengthens without clumping.

With only a swipe or two, you can create a very natural makeup look, which is what I do on most days. For a more dramatic look, you can also layer this mascara.

The mascara comes in the shades: Blackest Black, Midnight Black, Very Black, and Brownish Black (the shade above). This mascara also comes in a waterproof version.

Final Thoughts on The Best of Maybelline Drugstore Makeup
