I’ve heard some great things about Dermelect recently and, luckily, was sent a few products to try from the brand, so I’ll share my thoughts on and experience with a range of skincare products in this Dermelect review.

Dermelect Review

Many Dermelect products address the signs of aging, like wrinkles and fine lines, dark circles, dullness, lip lines, and uneven skin texture and tone.

These Dermelect products can be used on their own or along with professional procedures to enhance their results.

I’ll discuss my first impressions of an exfoliating serum, two retinol serums, under-eye treatment, neck cream, lip treatment, and eyelash treatment in this Dermelect review.

I’ll update this review after several weeks to share how the products have been working for me.

Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum

Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum, handheld.

Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum is an overnight skin-refining serum formulated with exfoliating acids to address the signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and pore size.

The most concentrated acid in the serum is ascorbic acid (l-ascorbic acid), better known as vitamin C.

This popular antioxidant helps to fight free radical damage, brighten your skin, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone.

Glycolic acid is the next ingredient that works to exfoliate your skin, promoting cell renewal and helping to improve skin texture.

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) with the smallest molecule size of all AHAs, which means it can penetrate your skin more quickly than other AHAs (but may also irritate sensitive skin).

Salicylic acid, an oil-soluble beta hydroxy acid (BHA), works to unclog your pores and exfoliate your skin, reducing inflammation and redness.

It’s an excellent ingredient for acne-prone skin due to its ability to break down the oil in clogged pores that can lead to pimples.

Aloe barbadensis leaf extract is included for its moisturizing and soothing benefits. Arginine is an amino acid that helps hydrate and heal your skin.

Grapeseed extract, a potent antioxidant, protects your skin from free radical damage and environmental stressors.

Witch hazel is an astringent that works as an anti-inflammatory, and allantoin soothes your skin. Sodium hyaluronate (the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) helps retain moisture and hydrate your skin.

The oil-free serum is formulated for all skin types.

Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum has a lightweight, watery texture that absorbs quickly into my skin without leaving behind any sticky residue.

The serum left my face a bit red after the first application since I can be sensitive to glycolic acid and salicylic acid, but my skin didn’t feel irritated. The next morning I woke to smoother skin with improved skin clarity.

After using this serum, I am reminded of how my skin looks after using one of my favorite serums, Sunday Riley Good Genes, but Dermelect is half the price.

I see brighter, smoother skin and a reduction in the appearance of pores – no wonder it’s a bestseller.

I like that it doesn’t contain many filler ingredients, and most are active ingredients that provide skin benefits.

Dermelect Revitalite Professional Eyelid & Dark Circle Corrector

Dermelect Revitalite Professional Eyelid & Dark Circle Corrector, handheld.

Dermelect Revitalite Professional Eyelid & Dark Circle Corrector is a 5-in-1 treatment formulated to address the signs of aging around the eyes.

The serum is designed to:

  • Reduce the look of puffiness and eye bags
  • Lighten the look of dark circles
  • Tighten the look of droopy eyelids
  • Conceals discoloration with light-diffusing pigments
  • A cool-tip metal applicator helps depuff, increase circulation, and soothe the eye area

The treatment is very slightly tinted and contains multiple peptides that are specifically formulated for the delicate eye area:

  • Eyeseryl: A tetrapeptide (Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5) that helps reduce the look of dark circles and eye bags. Per the manufacturer, it reduces puffy eyebags in just 15 days.
  • Haloxyl: A peptide complex that reduces the look of dark, undereye circles and supports skin firmness.
  • Sesaflash: A natural sesame-based ingredient that works to moisturize, tighten, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Liftensyl: Derived from soy protein, this active helps tighten, firm, and improve the look of skin elasticity.

The cream is lightweight, non-greasy, and leaves my skin incredibly soft. I’m not one to use many tools to massage my skin, but the cooling metal applicator really soothes my undereye area.

I’m not expecting a huge improvement in my dark circles since nothing helps my hereditary dark circles. But I appreciate the brightening effect of the light-diffusing pigments.

I like using it in my morning skincare routine since it helps with morning puffiness and works well under makeup.

It’s a little pricey for an eye treatment, but since it contains four trademarked actives and an applicator I look forward to using, I think it could be worth it if you struggle with the signs of aging around your eyes.

Dermelect Smooth Upper Lip Professional Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment

Dermelect Smooth Upper Lip Professional Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment, handheld.

Dermelect Smooth Upper Lip Professional Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment is an extra-strength lip treatment formulated to reduce the look of vertical lip lines (the kind that makes your lipstick feather), laugh lines, and upper lip discoloration.

The treatment can be used as a complement to fillers and or injections and is filled with potent actives that work together to smooth, brighten and soften the skin around your upper lip:

  • Matrixyl 3000: A popular anti-aging peptide complex, Matrixyl 3000 reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improves skin tone and elasticity.
  • Hyaluronic Filling Spheres: This hyaluronic acid delivery system improves hydration when it comes in contact with your skin.
  • Alpha Arbutin: Derived from the bearberry plant, alpha arbutin is a natural brightening ingredient that evens out skin tone and fades dark spots.
  • Retinol: Pure Vitamin A has multiple skin benefits, including reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin tone, and softening rough skin.
  • GABA: Tightens and improves the look of expression lines.

The treatment is ideal for:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Barcode lines
  • Melasma
  • Smokers’ stains

I’ve never used a lip treatment like this before, but as I ramp up my anti-aging skincare routine as I get older, a lip treatment like this one would be the next logical step.

The lightweight cream is applied with a round tip, making application a breeze. It’s non-irritating and absorbs quickly without being greasy.

I look forward to using this consistently twice a day to see if it can help with smile lines, so I’ll report back after several weeks.

Again, this is not the cheapest product, but if you deal with skin discoloration under your nose and around your lips, have noticeable lines around your lips, or are self-conscious about the signs of aging around your lip area, this could be an excellent targeted treatment.

It’s also an ideal treatment for smokers’ stains which can be challenging to cover with makeup.

Dermelect Self-Esteem Professional Neck Firming Lift

Dermelect Self-Esteem Professional Neck Firming Lift, handheld.

Ideal for neck sagging, wrinkles, or tech neck, Dermelect Self-Esteem Professional Neck Firming Lift targets these skin concerns and other signs of aging with its Agefinity complex that helps improve skin definition, elasticity, and tone.

Formulated for all skin types, this neck cream helps improve skin firmness and the sagging facial contours around the neck and jawline.

It also helps to smooth the look of tech neck, which are those pesky horizontal lines and wrinkles we get from spending way too much time looking down at our devices!

The cream is filled with skin-loving ingredients, including the AHAs glycolic acid and lactic acid and the BHA salicylic acid to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and help reduce the appearance of fine lines.

The lightweight moisturizer squalane helps repair dry skin, while avocado oil and shea butter softens and moisturizes with lipids and essential fatty acids.

Green tea extract and grape seed extract are potent antioxidants that help protect your skin from environmental stressors, and panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) soothes your skin.

I have noticed tech neck creep up on me in recent years as I am on my phone more than ever. I’ve been experimenting with neck creams, so I was excited to give this one a try.

Neck products are tricky because while your neck shows signs of aging, just like your face, it can be more sensitive to active ingredients. Luckily, I can use this fragrance-free neck cream twice daily without any irritation or redness.

The cream is lightweight, non-sticky, and absorbs easily without any greasy residue.

I’d love to know the active ingredient concentrations, but since the cream feels very gentle on my skin, I’m guessing the concentration of acids isn’t too high, which is fine since my neck can get red and irritated more easily than my face.

This neck cream would be suitable for anyone looking to prevent or reduce the signs of aging on their neck. It’s formulated with potent yet gentle actives and is suitable for all skin types.

I’ll report back whether or not I see an improvement in those annoying horizontal tech necklines with continued use.

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum, handheld.

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum is a slow-release retinol serum containing three active retinol forms.

The water-free formula helps improve the look of wrinkles, fine lines, thick skin, and photodamage (skin damage from the sun).

Formulated for all skin types, the serum also refines skin texture and evens out skin tone.

The serum blends retinol (pure vitamin A) with retinyl palmitate and retinyl acetate.

While you’re probably familiar with the skin-smoothing benefits of retinol, you may not know that retinol palmitate, a less potent retinol ester, offers antioxidant benefits, and retinyl acetate helps stimulate collagen production for firmer skin.

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum, open bottle with dropper applicator.

The slow-release, micro-encapsulated delivery minimizes the risk of irritation that often comes along with retinol.

The retinol serum has a silky, runny liquid texture that sinks into my skin quickly without feeling greasy.

Dermelect doesn’t disclose the retinol concentration in this serum, but I didn’t experience any redness or irritation, which I sometimes do with stronger retinol concentrations.

Dermelect Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum, bottle next to sample on hand.

I’ve been using retinol for many years, so I wasn’t sure I would see any difference in my skin with this serum.

But my skin responded in a similar way as it did to Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum. I woke to softer, smoother skin, and my pores minimized but without any redness.

One thing that surprised me was the affordable price of this retinol serum. For $39, it’s in the same general price range as L’Oreal and Olay retinol products.

If you don’t like the feel of heavy creams or serums, this retinol serum could be a great option for you since it’s so lightweight and absorbs quickly.

Also, if you’re new to retinol, this serum could be a gentle option, as the slow-release delivery system will minimize irritation.

Dermelect Confidence Crease Concentrate

Dermelect Confidence Crease Concentrate, handheld.

Dermelect Confidence Crease Concentrate is a retinol serum that comes in a waterless formula that gets a boost from Deremelect’s Hyaluronic Filling Spheres.

The concentrate contains RetiStar Stabilized Retinol for maximum stability. It targets wrinkles, fine lines, loss of elasticity, and dark spots and protects the skin against photo-aging.

Hyaluronic Filling Spheres expand upon contact to provide a cushioning effect that helps improve visible wrinkles and creases.

This temporary filling action gives skin a more youthful appearance, and the spheres also help lock in hydration.

Dermelect Confidence Crease Concentrate, bottle next to sample on hand.

While the velvety concentrate is supposed to double as a primer for improved makeup application and wear, I stick to using it at night since retinol can break down in sunlight.

The concentrate is fragrance-free with a thicker, silky emulsion texture, yet it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy.

I could see this concentration being a nice option for those with dry skin since it is boosted with hyaluronic acid and has a thicker texture which helps lock in moisture with the silicones in the formula.

I love the silky feel of this concentrate and will probably get the most use out of this serum in the colder weather months.

Between this concentrate and Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum, I slightly prefer Outcrease Retinol Trifecta Serum’s more lightweight texture and feel on my somewhat oily skin.

Another consideration is cost. This concentrate is twice the price of the retinol serum, so please keep this in mind if price is an issue.

Dermelect XL Lash Volumizer

Dermelect XL Lash Volumizer, handheld.

Dermelect XL Lash Volumizer is an eyelash and brow booster serum that contains a trio of multi-peptides to improve the look of weak, thin, and brittle lashes.

The peptides in the volumizing lash serum are:

  • SymPeptide XLash: Improves the look of eyelash thickness and density in as little as two weeks.
  • Capixyl Peptide: a biomimetic peptide combined with a red clover extract to promote fuller and thicker lashes.
  • Widelash Tripeptide: A biotinoyl tripeptide that conditions lashes and improves moisture.
Dermelect XL Lash Volumizer, open with brush applicator, handheld.

As a bonus, you can also use the fragrance-free lash volumizer on your brows.

The overnight conditioning treatment moisturizes my lashes with its lightweight milky formula. It’s light and not sticky or greasy.

I’ve experienced no irritation so far. After several weeks, I’ll share my results.

Dermelect Pros

Dermelect formulates its products with quality, proven active ingredients, and offers a wide variety of anti-aging products that address multiple skin concerns.

While some products may work better for specific skin types depending on the ingredients, Deremelect formulates all their products to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

I like that Deremelect takes into consideration how their products wear with other skincare and makeup. It’s so frustrating when you find a fantastic formula, but it pills or doesn’t play well with makeup.

The Dermelect products I tested under makeup wore beautifully and had no greasy residue after application.

Many Dermelect products target very specific pain points that I haven’t seen with other low-to-mid-price brands, like their anti-aging lip treatment and a forehead line treatment.

Another plus is that all the Deremelect products I tested are fragrance-free, so they shouldn’t irritate sensitive skin.

All Dermelect products are cruelty-free, and all of the products in this post are vegan, fragrance-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, SLS-free, SLES-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free.

Dermelect Cons

Many of the Dermelect products I tried each contain several active ingredients that work together to target your skin concerns.

While this can be a pro, if you have sensitive skin, it may not work for your skin type, and you might be better off using a product with fewer active ingredients.

Dermelect doesn’t share the active ingredient concentrations in their products. I prefer to know the percentage of actives in the products I use to gauge how my skin responds since it can be somewhat sensitive.

Not knowing the ingredient concentration is a drawback for me.

Finally, Dermelect products aren’t the least expensive out there. I would say they are mid-range. More expensive than drugstore but less than high-end.

But if you buy Dermelect products when they are on sale, you can get a nice discount.

Dermelect Review: The Bottom Line

There wasn’t a single Dermelect Cosmeceuticals product that I didn’t like. The only sensitivity I had was to their best-selling Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum, which was a bit strong for my somewhat sensitive skin.

But otherwise, I really like the retinol products and enjoyed pampering myself with the neck, eye, and lip treatments.

Deremelect also offers award-winning peptide-infused nail care treatments that I’m very interested in trying.

If you are looking for targeted anti-aging products, I think Dermelect Cosmeceuticals is definitely worth checking out.
