Pureology is a well-known brand in the haircare industry, loved for its salon-quality products. However, excellent quality often comes with a hefty price tag. Pureology products are no exception – they can be pretty expensive, making them pricey to use in your daily haircare routine.
That’s where these affordable Pureology dupes come in. These low-cost alternatives provide results similar to the original Pureology products without costing an arm and a leg. Let’s take a look at some of the best Pureology dupes that will help restore and nourish your hair.
Quick Take: Pureology Dupes: Worth It or Skip It?
So, is it worth trying out Pureology dupes like L’Oreal’s Bond Repair system and Kirkland Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner? In my opinion, yes, these dupes are worth it. While Pureology is a highly reputable brand known for its quality and results, you can get similar results with these more affordable options.
For Dry Hair:
Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner
- Targets: Dryness
- Best For: Medium to thick hair types and dry, color-treated hair
- Benefits: Boost shine and replenish dry hair with Pureology’s Antifade Complex
- Contains nourishing plant extracts and moisturizers
- Sulfate-free
- 100% vegan formulas
- Price: $36.00/each for 9 oz./bottle
Pureology Hydrate Shampoo is a best-seller for a reason. Its sulfate-free formula, luxe lather, and nourishing ingredients leave hair feeling hydrated and healthy.
The shampoo is enriched with glycerin, salicylic acid, green tea extract, rose extract, and aloe vera to cleanse and moisturize both your hair and scalp.
With its patented Antifade Complex, it also protects color-treated hair. Plus, it’s 100% vegan!
The aromatic fragrance is my favorite – a blend of lavender, bergamot, and patchouli to stimulate your senses.
Pureology Hydrate Conditioner is just as impressive, with its creamy formula that nourishes and detangles normal to thick, dry, color-treated hair while providing a boost of moisture.
Green tea’s antioxidants support a healthy scalp, while sage leaf extract stimulates hair follicles.
A word of warning to those with sensitive skin: The conditioner contains menthol and mint that stimulate your scalp and leave it feeling tingly. It’s quite a potent sensation and scent!
If you’re not looking to spend $36 for each, here are some budget-friendly alternatives:

From Costco brand Kirkland comes Kirkland Moisture Shampoo and Kirkland Moisture Conditioner.
Kirkland Moisture Shampoo is a moisture-boosting shampoo with a thick consistency and rich lather. It is sulfate-free and safe for color-treated hair, just like Pureology.
The shampoo is formulated with avocado and argan oils, plus botanical extracts (including aloe, green tea, and cucumber extracts) to improve hair manageability and vibrancy.
I can attest that this Kirkland shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair tangle-free, soft, and smooth. My hair feels nourished and looks shiny. Even though it doesn’t have the same fragrance as Pureology, it does have a fresh scent that is pleasant and not too overpowering.
Kirkland Moisture Conditioner replenishes moisture with avocado and argan oil and botanical extracts, just like the shampoo. It has UV-protective benefits, too.
The result is hair that feels hydrated, smooth, and frizz-free. The texture of the conditioner isn’t quite as rich as Pureology, and it doesn’t have the strong menthol and mint scent and tingle of Pureology Hydrate Conditioner, but it does make my hair feel incredibly soft and silky.
The stand out for me is the price. For both the shampoo and conditioner, for $11.99 each, you get a whopping 33.8 oz. Very impressive. You can see in the image below how much larger the Kirkland bottles are!

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner treat damaged, color-treated hair with their strengthening formulas enriched with Pureology’s patented Antifade Complex.
They both contain Keravis, a plant-derived protein that penetrates the hair shaft to improve moisture and strengthen your strands.
The shampoo and conditioner also contain:
- Astaxanthin, also known as “super Vitamin E”, has potent antioxidant properties.
- Arginine is an amino acid that improves moisture.
- Amodimethicone (a type of silicone) helps reduce frizz for smoother, silkier hair.
The shampoo has a rich texture that creates a generous foam and leaves my hair soft and shiny. The fragrance is raspberry and peach blended with fresh water flowers.
Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner repairs hair damage and prevents hair damage while providing results in just one use. The conditioner has a floral, fruity scent, just like the shampoo.

The products are 100% sulfate-free and are also made without parabens, DMDM hydantoin, added phthalates, dye, and gluten ingredients.
The shampoo and conditioner smell amazing, with notes of white tea, cedar, amber, citrus, and bergamot. A very impressive blend for a drugstore brand!
This duo is my favorite drugstore shampoo and conditioner due to its bond-rebuilding properties, lush scent, and being free from harsh ingredients. Plus, the price point is unbeatable compared to Pureology’s high-end haircare products.
The Bottom Line
Not only do these Pureology shampoo and conditioner dupes offer similar reparative benefits, but they are also free from harsh ingredients like sulfates that can damage your hair in the long run.
By choosing one of these alternatives from L’Oreal or Kirkland, you can save a significant amount of money without sacrificing the health and appearance of your hair.
