Naturium Skincare Review

Since Naturium was launched just a few years ago, they continually release new products. I will add to this post as I try new products.

Spoiler, I keep trying new products because I really like this skincare brand!

1. Naturium Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Facial Cleanser

Naturium Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Facial Cleanser

Naturium Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Facial Cleanser is formulated with green tea, aloe vera, vitamin C-rich Kakadu plum, mixed greens, and superfruits to remove makeup, dirt, and oil while balancing the skin’s pH levels.

  • Panthenol and aloe barbadensis leaf juice soothe the skin.
  • Camellia sinensis leaf (green tea) extract offers many benefits for the skin. It provides antioxidant protection, is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, and can even help with acne.
  • Vitamin C derivative sodium ascorbyl phosphate offers similar anti-aging benefits as pure vitamin C.
  • Microcitrus australasica fruit extract (caviar lime extract) contains fruit acids that provide a gentle exfoliation.
  • The cleanser also contains Citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, giving it its herbal spa-like fragrance.

The gel cleanser comes in a convenient pump, which scored points with me before I even tried it since I think pumps are so quick and easy to use.

The cleanser is gentle and provides a minimum foam, although it foams up a little more if you apply it to dry skin. This formula removes dirt, oil, and other impurities. It is formulated at a pH of 6.0 – 7.0 for optimal effectiveness.

I’ve been using it both in the AM by itself and in the PM as the second step of a double cleanse after my favorite Korean cleansing balm, which pairs well with this cleanser, as they have a similar herbal citrus scent.

After reviewing the ingredients, I realized they share a fragrant ingredient: bergamot fruit oil, one of my favorite scents. It actually makes me look forward to using this gel cleanser.

It rinses cleanly and leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated, not dry or stripped. This cleanser has become one of my current favorite water-based cleansers.

Naturium Mixed Greens Nutrient-Rich Facial Cleanser is formulated for all skin types, including sensitive, dry, acne-prone, aging, combination, normal and oily skin.

2. Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum

Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum contains a vitamin C complex of stabilized l-ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, and a bioactive fruit blend.

The serum works to provide vitamin C’s three main benefits: it offers antioxidant protection, boosts collagen synthesis, and brightens the skin while reducing uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation.

  • The formula contains pure vitamin C* (l-ascorbic acid) and sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable vitamin C derivative that offers all the benefits of pure vitamin C. Sodium ascorbyl phosphate also has antimicrobial benefits that can treat acne.
  • Glutathione, a natural antioxidant, is included in the formula to stabilize l-ascorbic acid.
  • The fruit acid blend includes Ananas sativus (pineapple) fruit extract, Carica papaya (papaya) fruit extract, Mangifera indica (mango) fruit extract, Terminalia ferdinandiana fruit (Kakadu plum) extract, Pleiogynium timoriense fruit extract, and Podocarpus elatus fruit extract.
  • The serum also contains soothing and healing aloe vera and beta-glucan.

*Per Naturium, their advanced vitamin C delivery system protects sensitive l-ascorbic acid and improves efficacy and skin penetration, making it 10x more effective while providing 100% antioxidant protection.

Vitamin C serums are one of my favorite types of serums for the multiple anti-aging benefits that they provide.

I’ve been using this serum in the morning to provide antioxidant protection during the day. It’s non-irritating and lightweight, so I can layer other serums with it (like Naturium’s niacinamide serum).

I love that it contains multiple forms of vitamin C to provide the benefits of vitamin C but minimizes potential irritation. Also, the price point is very reasonable for the elegant formula.

Since my skin is a bit sensitive, I’m going to stick with the Vitamin C Complex Serum, which contains fewer actives, especially after seeing how well it works for my skin.

3. Naturium Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%

Naturium Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%

Naturium Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% contains pure 12% niacinamide and 2% zinc PCA, which targets fine lines, skin texture, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

It also helps to balance excess sebum (oil) production.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is a supreme multi-tasker and offers multiple benefits for oily and acne-prone skin.

  • In addition to balancing sebum production, niacinamide provides anti-inflammatory properties, which can help with the redness and inflammation that comes with acne and breakouts.
  • This clinical study found that 4% niacinamide (used for eight weeks) was as effective as 1% clindamycin gel in the treatment of acne.
  • Niacinamide offers anti-aging benefits for aging/mature skin. It improves collagen production, which helps firm the skin.
  • Niacinamide brightens the skin and helps fade hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
  • Niacinamide strengthens the skin barrier and replenishes dry skin.

Zinc PCA (zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid) is included in the serum at a 2% concentration and supports niacinamide in regulating oil production and bacteria that cause acne and even helps improve collagen synthesis.

So, with all of these fantastic benefits, how did the serum perform? I noticed an improvement in the oily areas of my face during the day when I applied it in the morning.

It works well with Naturium Vitamin C Complex Serum, too. On evenings that I use retinol or retinoids, I also use this serum, and I think it’s been helping my skin barrier stay intact and strong.

I am really liking this serum since it has a high 12% concentration of niacinamide. It is non-irritating (it can be used on sensitive skin) and addresses multiple skin concerns at once.

Like the rest of Naturium products, it is very affordable for the elegant and effective formula.

4. Naturium Retinol Complex Serum

Naturium Retinol Complex Serum

Naturium Retinol Complex Serum contains a trio of anti-aging actives in the form of microencapsulated retinol, a bio-retinol, and bakuchiol, a plant-derived retinol alternative.

The retinol serum is formulated to smooth the look of wrinkles, fine lines, and pores while improving elasticity and uneven skin tone.

  • Retinol, the gold standard over-the-counter anti-ager, improves cell turnover to smooth and firm the skin. Although less effective than tretinoin (a retinoid requiring a prescription), retinol has fewer side effects.
  • Another active ingredient, bakuchiol, is a plant extract that has been shown to be comparable to retinol in its ability to improve photoaging and hyperpigmentation, yet it is better tolerated than retinol.
  • Bidens pilosa extract is the ingredient in the formula that acts as a bio-retinol. This active ingredient demonstrates retinol-like activity and offers similar anti-aging benefits to retinol without the unwanted side effects.
  • Humulus lupulus cone extract works as an antibacterial and antifungal.
  • Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) hydrates and plumps.
  • Vitamin E offers antioxidant benefits.
  • Flaxseed oil moisturizes and is rich in fatty acids, like linolenic acid, which is anti-inflammatory.

I really appreciate the multiple anti-aging actives like bakuchiol and bio-retinol that act like retinol but don’t come along with the irritation and redness that retinol sometimes causes.

When I first started using this serum, I couldn’t use it two days in a row on my somewhat sensitive skin since it left my skin a little tight and dry.

Now, I use this retinol serum every other day or every two days, and I love the results.

I have seen an improvement in skin texture, fine lines, and pores after using this serum in my evening skincare routine this past month. I expect the longer terms benefits will be even more pronounced.

5. Naturium Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream

Naturium Marine Hyaluronic Acid Water Cream Skin Moisturizer

Naturium Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream is all about lightweight hydration. It contains marine-based polysaccharides, hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate), seawater, and phytonutrients to drench skin with long-lasting hydration.

The gel-cream also contains multiple plant extracts like Curcuma Longa root (turmeric) extract, well known for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Tumeric can also help oily and acne-prone skin as it is antimicrobial and can help regulate sebum (oil) production in the skin.

Naturium Marine Hyaluronic Acid Water Cream Skin Moisturizer Open

This moisturizer is very lightweight and watery but moisturizing.

The first thing that came to mind after applying this moisturizer is that it would be a great affordable alternative for cult-favorite Belif The True Cream – Aqua Bomb.

It resembles Belif in texture, color, and performance, although this Naturium moisturizer is fragrance-free and Belif is not. This gel cream is very lightweight but hydrating. It’s perfect for use in the warm weather that I’ve been testing it in.

I think it would be great for combination, oily, and acne-prone skin types looking for non-greasy weightless hydration that lasts all day.

6. Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil

Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil

Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil is a unique oil-in-gel cleansing oil.

It uses fermented camellia oil, camellia extract, and a blend of linoleic-rich oils to remove makeup, dirt, oil, and sunscreen while nourishing and protecting skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Sugar-derived surfactants gently cleanse and hydrate without stripping skin.

Fermenting camellia oil allows for better penetration and release of skin-protective antioxidants, plus it provides improved makeup removal and moisturizing benefits without the greasiness of a typical oil.

Additional oils in the cleanser include jojoba oil, chia seed oil, and moringa seed oil, which are rich in nutrients that hydrate the skin. These oils tend to work well for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

This cleansing oil is the perfect first cleanse in a two-step double cleanse that dissolves makeup without stripping the skin. The d-phase emulsification process combines humectants and oils that transform the cleanser from a gel to oil to milk.

Formulated for all skin types, massage the cleanser between your palms for about 8-10 seconds before application in order to transform the cleanser into an oil.

Once water is added, the cleanser emulsifies into a milk which helps it rinse away easily.

I love how it made quick work of my makeup but was less messy than a typical cleansing oil. It really does rinse away cleanly without any residual oiliness. My skin feels soft, hydrated, and clean after use.

If you are not a huge fan of cleansing oils, this gel-oil hybrid could be a great alternative for you.

7. Naturium Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser

Naturium Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser

Naturium Fermented Rice Enzyme Cleanser is an exfoliating face wash that contains fermented rice filtrate, fruit enzymes, and biodegradable micro-powders to gently polish and cleanse the skin.

This enzyme cleanser helps to brighten skin while washing away impurities without stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

  • Fermented rice filtrate is rich in antioxidants and nutrients that help to brighten and even out skin tone while soothing and protecting skin from free radical damage.
  • Fruit enzymes are gentle exfoliators that help to loosen dead skin cells and unclog pores.
  • The fragrance-free cleanser also contains niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, which has anti-inflammatory properties, brightens your skin and supports a healthy skin barrier.
  • Panthenol, a form of vitamin B5, moisturizes and soothes the skin.
  • Upcycled apple fruit extract is another antioxidant-rich ingredient that supports a healthy complexion.
  • Biodegradable micro-powders help to mildly exfoliate dead skin cells while cleansing.

The cleanser has a plush texture that creates a gentle foam when water is added. My skin feels clean, soft, and smooth after use without experiencing any stripping or drying.

I’ve really been enjoying using this cleanser as the second step of a double cleanse with Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil as the first step.

I think they work well together and are very effective at removing makeup, dirt, oil, and sunscreen.

I also enjoy using this as my morning cleanse, as it gently exfoliates while cleansing away any impurities that have built up overnight.

8. Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10%

Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10% serum.

Naturium Azelaic Topical Acid 10% contains 10% glycinated azelaic acid (potassium azeloyl diglycinate), plus niacinamide, vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid), and coffee seed extract to reduce redness and hyperpigmentation, balance oil production and reduce the look of pores.

The serum gently exfoliates the skin while reducing dullness and dark spots with potassium azeloyl diglycinate (PAD), an azelaic acid derivative.

An interesting note is that pure azeliac acid isn’t known to balance sebum (oil) production, but PAD has been shown to normalize sebum activity. So this serum is a great choice for combination or oily skin.

  • The serum also contains niacinamide to brighten skin and support a healthy skin barrier.
  • Sodium hyaluronate (the salt form of hyaluronic acid) draws moisture to the skin.
  • Ethyl ascorbic acid, a vitamin C derivative, helps to brighten skin and reduce the look of sun damage.

What I really like about this azelaic acid serum is that I experience zero irritation from it, which isn’t usually the case with azelaic acid products.

It’s lightweight, absorbs easily without leaving any stickiness or greasiness, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized.

I like using it during the day under makeup because it provides a nice smooth canvas, plus it helps to control shine and keep my makeup looking fresh all day.

This has quickly become one of my favorite Naturium serums.

9. Naturium PHA Topical Acid 12%

Naturium PHA Topical Acid 12% serum.

Naturium PHA Topical Acid 12% is a gentle exfoliating serum that contains 10% polyhydroxy acid (PHA), lingonberry stem cells, and hyaluronic acid to brighten, smooth, and even out skin tone.

The serum provides a mild exfoliation from gluconolactone and lactobionic acid, two polyhydroxy acids (PHAs).

PHAs are larger molecules than AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and BHAs (beta hydroxy acids), so they don’t penetrate as deeply into the skin.

This makes PHAs a good choice for those with sensitive skin who want to exfoliate without irritation.

PHAs also help to support a healthy skin barrier and are known for their hydrating properties.

They also have antioxidant properties and fight glycation, which is the process that leads to the breakdown of collagen and skin elasticity, which in turn can cause sagging skin and loss of firmness.

  • Lingonberry stem cells help to prevent skin photoaging, which is damage from exposure to UV light. They are potent antioxidants that protect skin cells from damage and help to repair existing damage.
  • Multiple weights of hyaluronic acid are also in the serum to help draw moisture to the skin.
  • The serum also contains mandelic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that has a larger molecule size than other AHAs like glycolic acid, so it’s gentler on the skin.

The serum has a light, slippery texture that glides on easily and absorbs quickly. It doesn’t leave any tackiness or stickiness behind.

Even though I have somewhat sensitive skin, I have built a tolerance to stronger exfoliating acids.

So while I enjoyed using the serum and experienced no irritation, I get better results when using more potent acids like lactic acid or lower concentrations of glycolic acid.

I think this serum would be ideal if you have sensitive skin and can’t tolerate stronger AHAs like glycolic acid or lactic acid or if you have aging, mature skin and are looking for a gentle treatment to help with brightening and smoothing the skin.

10. Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm

Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm, handheld.

Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm contains purple ginseng, nourishing oils, and plant-based esters that gently remove dirt, makeup, oil, sunscreen, and other impurities.

Formulated for all skin types, the fragrance-free cleansing balm emulsifies when mixed with water and rinses away cleanly without leaving the skin feeling oily or greasy.

  • Polygonum bistorta root extract, also known as Purple Ginsgeng, helps regulate oil production.
  • Chia seed oil and jojoba seed oil are lightweight and filled with replenishing fatty acids.

It’s formulated without PEGs, polyethylene, or parabens.

Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm, open jar and sample on clear spatula.

I’m enjoying this cleansing balm as my first cleanse in an evening double-cleansing routine.

It’s non-irritating and non-greasy, yet easily removes makeup, dirt, and oil while leaving my skin feeling super soft and smooth.

If you’re a fan of cult-favorite Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, this could be a great drugstore alternative at almost half the price.

11. Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05%

Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05%, handheld.

Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05% contains 0.05% sustained-release retinaldehyde, a powerful form of vitamin A that is converted into active retinoic acid within the skin.

Retinaldehyde is also known as retinal. It is one of the strongest over-the-counter retinoids available and is more potent than retinol.

Retinol must be converted into retinaldehyde and then retinoic acid to be effective, so retinaldehyde bypasses that extra conversion step.

Retinaldehyde accelerates cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, and improves skin elasticity and firmness.

Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.05%, flatlay and sample on hand.

The serum also contains bio-fermented oligopeptide, which works to improve skin texture and radiance.

The serum has a creamy texture that is comfortable on my skin. I haven’t experienced irritation with the serum since I’ve been limiting it to no more than 2-3x a week.

This Naturium skincare product would be a great choice if your skin tolerates higher retinol concentrations and you are ready to move on to a stronger over-the-counter retinoid.

Plus, it’s super affordable for a retinaldehyde serum!

12. Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer

Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer, handheld.

Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer contains a multi-peptide blend, encapsulated ethylated vitamin C, and panthenol to target wrinkles and fine lines.

  • Formulated for all skin types, the serum contains three peptides (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) that help improve firmness and skin elasticity.
  • Encapsulated ethylated vitamin C, a stabilized form of vitamin C, helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots while offering antioxidant and collagen-boosting benefits.
  • Niacinamide helps to reduce inflammation and redness, while panthenol boosts moisture while soothing the skin.
  • Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), glycerin, and squalane hydrate and plump the skin.
Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer, sampled on hand.

I love the convenient pump tube, and the texture and feel are lightweight and non-greasy.

The moisturizer works well with makeup during the day and as a moisturizer at night. Plus, it’s very affordable.

Multi-Peptide Moisturizer has quickly become one of my go-to daily moisturizers. If you have dry skin, you might want something a little richer, but for my slightly oily skin, this is just about the perfect moisturizer!

The more Naturium products I try, the more I like this brand!

13. Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2%

Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2%

Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% is a leave-on salicylic acid toning treatment that smoothes and evens out skin tone, reduces the look of pores, and improves skin clarity.

  • This liquid BHA exfoliator contains 2% encapsulated salicylic acid for optimal stability that breaks down dead skin cells and removes excess oil.
  • The treatment also contains bioactive fruit acids to help clarify skin without over-drying. A bioactive complex of antioxidant-rich indigenous Australian lime extracts, including caviar lime, desert lime, and rainforest lime, gently exfoliates the skin for enhanced radiance.

The formula is gentle enough to use daily, preferably at night. I like using it a few times a week as part of my evening skincare routine and love the results! My skin feels smoother, looks brighter, and it has really improved my overall skin texture.

This BHA toner is ideal for acne-prone, oily, or combination skin that may need extra help controlling oil production throughout the day and to help reduce breakouts and uneven skin tone and improve skin texture.

This is the perfect dupe for Paula’s Choice 2% Liquid Exfoliant, as I discussed in my post about the best Paula’s Choice BHA Exfoliant dupes.

14. Naturium Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum

Naturium Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum, handheld.

I couldn’t wait to order Naturium Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum because of its formula that targets the visible signs of aging:

  • Encapsulated copper peptides help to visibly improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Argireline Amplified is a newer version of the Argireline peptide complex that helps firm your skin and improve skin texture.
  • Encapsulated ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from environmental stressors.
  • Hydrolyzed vegan collagen provides a more lifted look to your skin.

The lightweight serum has a milky, creamy texture, thanks to the squalane and shea butter in the formula.

Naturium Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum, bottle flatlay next to sample on hand.

I love that the copper peptides are encapsulated, which allows them to work with other actives that may not typically be able to work together, like vitamin C and retinol.

I’ve been using this serum both day and night with both vitamin C and retinoids, and like that I’m getting the benefits of a potent antioxidant peptide serum in addition to other strong actives.

This serum has been a great addition to my anti-aging skincare routine!

15. Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream

Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream, handheld.

Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream addresses the signs of aging around your eyes with Argireline Amplified, an advanced peptide complex that helps smooth the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

The serum also contains:

  • Matrixyl 3000, a peptide complex that helps boost collagen production and improves skin elasticity.
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 (Syn-Coll) is a peptide that helps improve skin texture and supports collagen synthesis.
  • Squalane provides lightweight hydration and moisture.
  • Hyaluronic acid plumps and hydrates the delicate skin around your eyes.
Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream, tube dispensing a sample of eye cream on finger.

This eye cream has a rich, creamy texture that feels luxurious on the skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue.

This is another winner for me from Naturium. I love the combination of powerful peptides and hydrating ingredients in this eye cream. It plumps the skin around my eyes, making my under-eye area look smoother. And it works well with makeup, too.

Points to Remember:

  • Many Naturium serums can be used together, but it’s important to avoid using potent actives, such as exfoliating acids, retinol, pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and benzoyl peroxide, in the same routine, so use caution when mixing and matching products.
  • Always listen to your skin. If you experience any irritation, consider reducing the frequency of potentially irritating products.
  • The order of product application matters. Typically, go from thinnest to thickest consistency.
  • Consistency is key. To see noticeable results, ensure you maintain your skincare routine on a daily basis.
