Beauty Pie Review: Luxury Skincare at Drugstore Prices

I’d heard about the brand Beauty Pie from other beauty bloggers but never really paid attention because I didn’t understand how it worked.

Was it a beauty club or a subscription box? I didn’t quite understand what its model was. But when I heard some rave reviews about the products, especially skincare products, I finally decided to investigate and get some answers.

I joined Beauty Pie and tried several skincare products, so today, I’ll share my experience with the products in this Beauty Pie skincare review.

Beauty Pie – A Buyers Club for Beauty Addicts

Beauty Pie was founded in 2016 by Marcia Kilgore, a beauty industry veteran who also founded Bliss Spa, Soap & Glory, and FitFlop.

It was Kilgore’s mission to bring the highest quality beauty products to consumers at transparent factory costs without any markups. She wants consumers to have a bigger piece of the beauty pie, thus the brand name “Beauty Pie”!

Beauty Pie sells products for the hair, skin, and body, as well as makeup, perfume, and candles. They source their products from beauty labs that also supply major luxury cosmetics brands.

Beauty Pie may even get the exact same formulations for some products as other premium beauty brands. These labs and suppliers are located worldwide, including Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Korea, France, Germany, the UK, and the US.

The difference is that Beauty Pie is not adding the crazy markups (up to 10x!) that come with typical luxury beauty products. Prices are actually lower than drugstore prices! They use the buying power of all of their members to get the newest and best formulations.

Beauty Pie uses recyclable and recycled board for their cartons and they try to avoid metallic and foil. They use environmentally friendly inks that are glycol and silicone-free and contain no heavy metals and have a zero VOC level for all their consumer packaging.

Beauty Pie is 100% Cruelty-Free, and while they have plans to distribute to other countries in the future, their products are currently available in the United Kingdom and the US.

How Beauty Pie Works

Beauty Pie is similar to Costco or Sams Club in that you pay a membership fee for the ability to purchase their products.

Beauty Pie Skincare Review: My Beauty Pie Experience (So Far) – Skincare & Bodycare

If you can’t already tell, I absolutely love Beauty Pie! I love the rock bottom prices, but I love the products even more! Here’s what I’ve tried:

It’s great as the first step of a double cleanse. I also love using it by itself as a quick cleanse in the morning.

The cleanser contains Jabara Extract, an antioxidant-rich in vitamin C and antioxidant vitamin E that works synergistically with vitamin C.

Nmfission Moisture-Lock complex moisturizes and supports skin firmness. Delamyth DNA+ is an extract from Delaware grape peels and helps counteract UVB-free radical damage.

It turns from an opaque gel to an oil upon application, and once water is added, the cleanser transforms into a milk. This fragrance-free cleanser goes to work on stubborn eye makeup. It’s gentle and soft and leaves my face feeling so incredibly smooth. Made in Japan.

Japanfusion Step M1: Hydra Prep Lotion

NOTE: This toner has been updated and I now called: Japanfusion Energy Essence Mist.

Japanfusion Step M1: Hydra Prep Lotion is a micro-molecular hydrating prep tonic.

Wow, that’s a mouthful. But what it really does is prep your skin for the rest of your skincare routine, effectively allowing the most important ingredients of your routine that follow to be even that much more effective.

Antioxidant Jabara citrus and grape extracts and Pombo Yeast moisture fusion soften, balance, and hydrate your skin. It also contains glycerin and squalane for added moisture.

It contains alcohol that has astringent properties, so please beware if alcohol is an issue for your skin. This tonic is also somewhat strongly fragranced, so it may be an issue if you are sensitive to scent.

I love that after swiping on this tonic with a cotton pad my skin does not feel the slightest bit dry. In fact, it feels super moisturized so when dry skin weather hits, this will replace any other toners in my skincare routine. Made in Japan.

It contains hyaluronic acid, collagen precursors, skin plumpers, antioxidants, plant actives, and free-radical fighters.

This cream is a great do-it-all anti-ager. I tried it during the summer, and while it was silky and not greasy at all, I found it a bit too rich for my combination-oily skin.

I can’t wait to start using it again now that the weather is cooling off. This cream does have a fragrance, so please make note if you are sensitive to scent.

It also contains shea butter and 5% bio-sugar moisture magnets for a silky feel and long-term moisture effect. Bio-technical pseudo-collagen plumps and softens hands and is moisture-binding.

I use this at night before bed when I won’t be washing my hands for a few hours. After using it a few weeks, my hands are softer and my skin appears smoother.

I’ve found no other hand cream that has such powerful anti-aging ingredients at such a low price.

Super Healthy Skin Deluxe Moisture Body Creme

Super Healthy Skin Deluxe Moisture Body Creme suspends micro-droplets of oil in water, making it a light but rich cream. It contains sustainable cold-pressed Hibiscus Flower Oil, which contains antioxidant vitamin E and essential fatty acids which help to minimize transepidermal water loss.

Shea Butter is nourishing and soothing and glycerin adds another burst of moisture. It also contains Meadowfoam Oil, and Essential Oils of Orange, Tangerine, Geranium and Tonka Bean. The cream does contain added fragrance, so please make a note if you are sensitive to fragrance.

This cream sinks right into your skin and does not leave you feeling greasy and smells like a dream. Simply divine.

Beauty Pie: Affordable and Effective Skincare

I really like all of the Beauty Pie products that I’ve tried so far. While most of the products that I’ve tried have fragrance, I actually like the scents. I have only tried skincare and body care products so far but can’t wait to try their makeup, perfume, and candles.
